What is SupaVac?

SupaVac is the global market leader in air-operated, ultra-tough vacuum pumping. Our units are capable of transferring any flowable material across a wide range of applications, including Oil & Gas, FPSO & tanker, tank cleaning, mining, industrial, municipal, and agricultural sectors. Pumping the un-pumpable!

The SupaVac range of solids-handling vacuum pumps offers an efficient and economical solution to most pumping challenges.

Why is SupaVac the best Solids Handling pump in the world?

With over 30 years of infield operational experience, SupaVac leads the market in developing ultra-tough, air-operated vacuum pumping solutions globally. We are committed to consistent operational innovations.

Our next-generation quick-change pneumatic control box provides a more user-friendly system with new countdown timers, indicators showing pump cycle, and increased safety, usability, and serviceability. Standardised across our SV30, SV60, SV60-V, SV110-V, and SV700 ranges, these control boxes are completely interchangeable with quick connectivity, minimising downtime.

The variable control low-pressure discharge option allows operators to have complete control of the discharge cycle. This feature enables lowering the discharge pressure to as low as 10 PSI, using only what is required to move material without compromising performance, and reducing overall energy consumption. It increases safety by reducing pressure in pipelines and hoses and allows for a “soft start” when setting up discharge lines to ensure they are fully and safely secured.

SupaVac offers a fully synchronised pumping solution across our complete range. By connecting 2 x SV250 or SV510 pumps together in a dual pump configuration, you can double the effective transfer rate of a given media. This field-proven solution, complete with new pneumatic control features—either manual or fully automatic—allows us to deliver upwards of 120m³/hr @ SG1.0 for 2 x SV250-V-600RF units and 180m³/hr @ SG1.0 for 2 x SV510 units.

Our dedicated in-house design and engineering team focuses on delivering industry-leading solutions, with over 30 years of infield operational experience, through technological innovation and market-leading product design to meet your solids handling requirements.

How does a SupaVac pump work?

Pneumatic Conveying is a method of handling materials using high-velocity air flow through a pipeline. This requires sufficient air velocity to pass the material being picked up to capture it and convey it through the vacuum tube to the machine.

SupaVac pumps are 100% air operated, require no electrical input, are intrinsically safe, and are ATEX certified.

The air velocity is maintained by not fully submersing the nozzle or by allowing air to enter the pick-up point via a snorkel tube attached to the nozzle.

The advantages of this technique include:

  • Suction lifts in excess of 25 meters (82 feet+) can be achieved
  • Materials can be liquid or dry
  • Particle sizes of up to 70% of the suction hose diameter can be conveyed
  • Horizontal suction distances in excess of 60 meters (197 feet) can be achieved
  • Fibrous, waxy, and heavy sludge can be handled
  • Powders and solids can be handled as well as wet materials

Why is my SupaVac pump not working?

SupaVac pumps are designed and built with no moving wetted parts. They are rugged in design and quality in build. However, as with all pneumatic systems, SupaVac is at the mercy of air quality. Poor air quality can and will negatively affect the pneumatic control function, leading to blockages or corrosion. SupaVac pumps are supplied with an on-board filter regulator to assist in combating this issue.

The next generation quick change pneumatic control box has significantly improved user experience, serviceability, and minimised downtime.

Can SupaVac pump slurries & sludges?

SupaVac Solids Pumps are capable of pumping any flowable material, including drill cuttings, WBM, OBM, liquid slurries, mud, slimes, sand, gravel, powders, and many more. Where other pumps cannot operate, SupaVac SV solids, slimes, and slurry pumps provide a simple, safe, and versatile solution.

Can SupaVac pumps be used offshore?

SupaVac is the global market leader in air-operated, ultra-tough vacuum pumping. Pumping the un-pumpable!

The SupaVac range of solids-handling vacuum pumps offers an efficient and economical solution to most pumping challenges.

Are SupaVac solids pumps pneumatic or electric?

SupaVac SV pumps are 100% air operated. They can be powered either by plant air or a portable/mobile compressor.

Depending on the specific SupaVac model, units will require between 80 CFM and 750 CFM of air supply, with a minimum of 85 PSI at the pump. It’s essential to monitor air quality to prevent blockages and corrosion in the pneumatic control system.

Are SupaVac slurry pumps or sludge pumps expensive?

SupaVac SV pumps are built to last and have an unsurpassed reputation for quality and longevity. We see pumps coming in for service which have been in the field for twenty years or more.

SupaVac is not built to a price, unlike many of our competitors, and one must consider the ‘total cost of ownership’ when comparing SupaVac.

We have invested heavily in product R&D, engineering, and testing, and we can confidently say that you won’t be disappointed with your SupaVac purchase. After all, “the bitter taste of poor quality long outlives the joy of a cheap purchase”.

The operating costs that SupaVac will save your business in handling problematic material transfers will be significant over the lifetime of the unit. Save yourself the headaches, costs, and downtime – let SupaVac solve your solids handling problems.

Is a SupaVac pump more efficient than a diaphragm pump?

SupaVac solids, slurry, or mud pumps are not necessarily designed to be used in applications which are suitable for diaphragm pumps. SupaVac becomes the preferred pump unit when diaphragm pumps fail or are unable to handle the media any longer.

While diaphragm pumps clog and fail, SupaVac slurry pumps are just getting started. SupaVac SV pumps transcend conventional pump techniques by pneumatically conveying materials.

Can I hire a SupaVac slurry pump?

Yes! We have SV60, SV60-V, SV110-V, and SV250-V units available for hire in Australia. Additionally, we offer a trailer-mounted solution featuring an SV60-V with an onboard compressor, along with hoses and accessories.

We also provide rental units globally, including SV60, SV110, SV250-V, and SV280 models. International clients can contact our local distribution partners to access local stock and rental options.

How much air does a SupaVac sludge or slurry pump use?

Depending on the SupaVac model, our pumps will require between 80 CFM and 750 CFM of air. Clients should consider this air consumption in relation to the material transfer rate when choosing a SupaVac model.

We offer a range of SupaVac models from SV30 to SV510, each tailored to specific markets and applications.

Where can I buy a SupaVac sludge pump?

SupaVac firmly believes in ‘growth through distribution’. We have longstanding and valued relationships with partners in the Middle East, Europe, LATAM, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, China, the African continent, USA, and Canada.
